The weekend was abuzz as all roads led to Mnambithi TVET College for the COSACSA Provincial Eisteddfod. Our college was honoured to host this year’s Provincial competition held on the 11-12 July 2026.
The competition brought together participants from different KZN TVET Colleges such as Coastal TVET College, uMgungundlovu TVET College, Mnambithi TVET College, Majuba TVET College, Elangeni TVET College, and EThekwini College. The COSACSA competition consisted of many activities designed to showcase the abilities of students outside the classroom. Students competed in Chess, Soduku, Mathematics, MATHS LIT, debate, Scrabble and Quiz. These activities highlighted the talents and skills of students beyond academics. The Eisteddfod provided a platform for learners to build confidence, teamwork, critical thinking, and communication skills. It also assists our students in bringing out their full potential, encouraging learners to develop life skills that complement their technical qualifications and prepare them for the world of work.
As the hosts, our students represented us well as we managed to win in almost all the activities that took place: Book review we took position 1, Mathematical literacy we took position 1, mathematics we took position 2, Soduku (females) we took position 3, Soduku (Males) we took position 3 and Scrabble we took position 2. The winners from all KZN TVET Colleges will them move to the next phase where they will represent KZN in the competition.
The 2026 Provincial Eisteddfod was a reminder that TVET Colleges produce not only skilled graduates but also leaders, thinkers and talented individuals who will shape the future of our province and country.
