Our hospitality course is based at Ladysmith campus where we offer both NCV and Report 191.For NCV, the course duration is 3 years then after completion the student receives a certificate equivalent to a matric certificate. For R191 the course duration is 18 months theory plus 18 months practical experience thereafter receive a Diploma. Some required subjects to qualify for this course include English, Hospitality Studies/consumer studies, life sciences and Mathematics/Mathematics literacy. Career opportunities are vast in this course such as being in a food and beverage services, housekeeping supervisors, Chef: Commis Chef, Chef de Partie, Front desk agents, clerks, concierge and night auditor. You can work in hotels, resorts, lodges, cruise ships, etc.

During March, our hospitality students (N5 & N6) had kitchen practical where they had to prepare a 3 course menu and serve. They had to present their meals to the lecturers and Campus Management Team, clearly explaining what and how they prepared their meals. This is to also prepare them for the future because being in this industry requires one to know more than just cooking and preparing a meal. In essence, hospitality studies equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to manage and excel in businesses that prioritize customer satisfaction and create memorable experiences.
